The breakfast post

That morning cup of coffee is pretty sacred to me, but I don't know if it's because I love the coffee itself or just the few minutes I get to sit and chill. Even the Boo seems to give me some space when I'm holding the mug. Maybe it's that he knows that afterward I'll be less cranky and more willing to tell him long stories about cats who sneak onto cruise ships.

I am one of those people who feels better after the morning cup. I wish I could go right to the coffee, but my stomach insists on having some food in it first. And I've learned that it's better if there's some protein in that food (so a granola bar doesn't cut it). The other factor is my laziness.

It's been a good weekend - one with a few activities but still enough time to relax and enjoy the weather.

As Jason mentioned, I spent Friday night catching up college friends over fondue. By "college friends," I mean three of the four ladies I shared an apartment with my senior year (almost 20 years ago!!); the missing roomie lives a few states away, but we hope we can have a night out the next time she comes up.

Skating was a day of skating fun for Kiki. Her club put on its annual skating show. Since our vacation kept her from two of the three rehearsals required to be in a regular number, she was only in the opening. The Backyard Theater

I've been toying with the idea of getting the stuff to setup a backyard theater for years: basically, a fairly large screen, a decent projector, and a way to play movies. Maybe a sound system.

Now it's not as if I don't have a TV and a way to watch movies inside. Why do I need to watch them outside? Isn't it cold? Aren't there mosquitoes? Won't rain be a concern? We live in New England, and it's not like it would be reasonable to watch movies outside year round. At the end of the day, isn't this really just a waste of money?
