Surprise! And surprise again!

I can't get this silly grin off my face. It's been that kind of day.

Last night around 10, my brother called to let me know that his daughter arrived healthy and happy. I'm so thrilled to be an auntie to another girl, and the Boo's not the little one anymore. Jason and I already had a full Saturday planned but decided that we just couldn't wait another day to meet her, so we squeezed in a trip to Dover before the birthday party we were scheduled to attend in the afternoon.

Happily, we got there in time to share some moments with my mom and dad and Tim, as well. We took our turns holding little Princess T - even Kiki - and my dad got a wonderful family shot. More Christmas

Jason hasn't written about the third part of our day yet. Since I can't sleep, I'll just pick up where he left off.

I felt bad having to rush from my parents' house. Usually we get to linger a bit after gifts are opened, but things got started a bit later this year; by the time the last gift was opened, it was time to pack up and head off to my mother-in-law's house. Looking at it rationally, we'd spent five hours there ... and it's not as if they don't live five minutes away. We'll just have to take some time to visit my brothers at their homes soon.

We arrived at my mother-in-law's house to find the table set and May-May and Kay-Kay happy in their pajamas. I'd brought Kiki's along in case she wanted to change, but she declined and said, "This way, I can be the star."

Happy Holidays Part 2

Very busy day today.

Christmas with Tracy's family was packed with fun this morning. It was L'il C's first Christmas, and also the first time Kiki met her new cousin face to face. Ted and Cherry were running a little late, which meant we entertained Kiki in the basement for an hour. So I got some quality time with Kiki watching the Franklin Xmas special.

When things got under way, we did the "follow the string" game... where each person is given a color and follow a string of yarn throughout the house to get to their stocking. The yarn has a number of gifts tied to it that you discover as you mosey along. This was Kiki's first year seeing that and she really seemed to enjoy the exercise.
