Cult of non-productivity

I'm in a low-production mood. Right now, I'd like to just shut this laptop and go read in bed until I fall asleep. I promised myself that I'd try to post something today, though. Don't want to let too long go by and then feel the need to apologize (again) for the lapse. I'm prettty sure none of you is sitting on the edge of your seat, waiting to hear the little bits of our lives, so I never feel too bad.

I have a lot of tasks I've been meaning to do for a long time - and I'm pretty good at coming up with excuses for not doing them .

the Boo: He is my go-to excuse for almost everything. I can't go volunteer at school as often as I should because he would have to come with me - and that just wouldn't work out. I can't get a lot of work done at home during the day, because

Mine was 50 new books, and I met that goal with less than a month to spare. And that doesn't include books I reread (such

School vacation weeks are a mixed bag for me.

Kiki, of course, is always thrilled. A relaxed bedtime, no scheduled lessons or activities, time to putter around (ie. play on the computer or other electronic device) and less of me nagging about homework - what's not to love? Sleeping in or staying in pajamas all day are some other perks. Sometimes she doesn't realize that her vacations aren't vacations for her parents, though. Jason's vacation time is limited, so we usually try to save it so we can go away for a week or so in the summer and so he can take a few days off here and there.

For me, school vacations mean having two kids to entertain during the day. the Boo is almost always demanding - either wanting someone to play with or needing to be saved from breaking his neck or
